My name is Emory Beck. I’m from Wellington, New Zealand. I have a BSc in Geology, a Geography minor and a Certificate of Proficiency in GIS, from Victoria University of Wellington.
With over 5 years of experience as a Geospatial Specialist, I have a diverse skill set with particular expertise in LiDAR data and aerial imagery. My passion is turning this data into maps and visualisations, showcasing the beauty of landscapes and data.
The open-source datasets I mainly use can be found via:
LINZ Data Service
OpenTopography
The open-source software I use (including, but not limited to):
QGIS
Blender
GIMP
AerialOD
Inkscape
I plan to add tutorials on how to produce some of these visualisations, and on other skills I’ve picked up over the years. I will also continue to add content to this site so please stay tuned.
This is an ongoing passion of mine. Who knows how this will evolve. I hope you like what you see.
